Hi Joel,
Blue is 10 and usually a good boy. He has been asking to go out more frequently and since I'm a stay at home woman, his requests are always honored. Once a few months ago, when we left him alone more than 10 hours, he peed in the house. So we don't leave him long anymore. We just took a three day trip for which he was boarded. We picked him up yesterday and thought everything was fine. He went out a few times but when we got up this morning he had peed in the house twice during the night. I took him to the vet last week for routine, but mentioned the more frequent urination, so the vet did LOTS of blood and urine tests, which are all normal.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Blue's Mom,
Welcome to Boston Love. The only thing I can think of is maybe he can't hold it all night? Is he crate trained? I hope other people might have some advice for you. I am not sure Joel will get back to you as he hasn't checked in here since February.

He probally just cant hold it for as long as he used to ,10 years old he is gettin up there. i had the same experience with my boxer thats why. when they get older they are just like us. they need a little extra help and love. good luck , i would take pee over any other serious medical problems any day, especially at 10 years old

oh welcome to boston love! everyone is very helpful here.

Oh yes!My mixed breed Quint cannot hold it anywhere near as long as he used too.He turned 13 in March and he does the best he can.I sometimes think he has the largest bladder of ANY dog. When he dors go,in the house-he goes where I've prepared newspapers for him.No way,is he emptying his baldder either,I think he's just relieving the pressure,so to speak.
I wish I could be home more for them, but gotta work away from home.
I also don't feel comfortable putting in a doggie door.Too many problems I think with that.
I figure your baby at 10,just can't hold it as long either.
I am looking into indoor potty staions, for those times, also. They don't seem to sell larger ones, that I can find anyway.Maybe you could use one of those, too????
Good Luck!

I would also say it's age. My oldest is nine and we are starting to experience some of this. Would love to see a pictures of your lil guy :)

It could be age, but could be other health issues. Blood and urine tests were mentioned, does the vet have the results back yet? If everything else is okay, then probably age.

I hadn't noticed that, for this section seems to still get posts, thus assuming Joel was still here?

I would actually take a few steps back, and start putting the dog in a crate, and try crate training. Sometimes dogs need to regress a bit like this, and it can help.
