Hi everybody!

We are new to the board so let us introduce ourselves: I'm a the happy owner of a lovely little bt girl Natalie. We live in Helsinki, Finland - the climate is not bad for bostons, it's quite moderate actually! A Finnish boston needs a warm wardrobe to cope, though. Natalie hates dressing up but out in the snow she's quite content in her warm overall.

Our hobbies are utility (not serious) and dog shows (a bit more serious but not much). Natalie's done really well in the showrings and I'm expecting her to become a Finnish Champion later this year. To be completely honest, at this point I have to tell that there's not so much competition here! Boston is a rare breed indeed. I feel so lucky having gotten my Natalie, as I know some people have been waiting for years to get the bt puppy they want.

I often have to answer questions about the breed and do it quite willingly. Many people ask if she's a pug or a french bulldog - even a boxer puppy or a cat! Some people remember having seen a similar little dog in Boston shoe polish cans... So she's just "the shoe shine dog" for them!

Dog shows are great fun for us, for there we get to meet other bt owners and Natalie's relatives. Nat's Mother, Brothers, aunts and uncles are mostly show dogs and the shows are like family reunions for us! Of course I like the excitement, too. Natalie has her own advantages and faults and at the end of the day, it's the matter of the judge's taste. Natalie is always a good performer for she has a playful, happy personality and it's all just another game for her.

I'm still waiting to be able to install software for resizing my huge images.. Meanwhile, in case you should be interested in seeing Finnish bostons, you can check Natalie's breeder's home pages at www.nevicatas.com. The English version is not yet available, but pictures are quite nice, I think. The breeder takes most of the photos by herself. On the opening page there's a familiar face...

walk_dog And here's another link at Finnish Boston's pages (our national club), some of these are also Natalie's ralatives, see if you can detect any family resemblance! http://www.toydogs.net/bostons/sbframeset.htm ----> "picture gallery"

Welcome Annukka and Natalie. It's good to see you here. I miss your posts from the org board. You might remember me, I'm Laurie, I have Lilly, Lola, Elsworth and Frank.
I checked out your websites too, and enjoyed all the pics of the Bostons and Boxers. I especially enjoyed the picture of the Boston and Boxer cuddling. And I love the fact that the Boxers ears are all natural in the pics :) Do they have to be shown with their ears natural in Finland? I wish it was that way here in the states.
I'm not sure what time zone your in, but like Cheryl said, try to join us in chat...we're like silly teenagers sometimes and have a ball there :)
Looking forward to lots of pics of Natalie.
Kisses to her from Frank and Elsworth.

Thanks! Seems we already met each other in the chatroom.

It was so nice to hear from you, it seems like a long time. I remember Faithy all right, with her beautiful grey face... All ear/tail cropping is banned here. I'm glad about it, too. Those boxer pics are old: Nat's breeder started with boxers and then moved over to breeding bt:s. Curiously, she's not the only one who's made that move - bostons are such mini boxers!

The first dog in our family has her portrait in the pages, too. She was called Pöti but her real name was Nevicata's Viveca. For half an year later, I got myself my first bt. They are great together.

I laughed when I saw that Nat's breeder had the cheek to put there a picture of herself in 70's clothes! :D
It actually seems to be pretty trendy just now...? I'm a little bit embarrassed myself, looking at my pics from 70's and especially 80's... Argh. What the **** were we thinking of? make_face

I think that all boxers should be shown with natural ears, there's no need to put them through ear cropping. I think Boxers look beautiful with natural ears, it gives them a softer expression.
I give your breeder credit for putting pictures of herself from the 70 and 80's. They weren't the best time's for style! LOL
