Annukka, Natalie's mom

Hi everybody!
We are new to the board so let us introduce ourselves: I'm a the happy owner of a lovely little bt girl Natalie. We live in Helsinki, Finland - the climate is not bad for bostons, it's quite moderate actually! A Finnish boston needs a warm wardrobe to cope, though. Natalie hates dressing up but out in the snow she's quite content in her warm overall.
Our hobbies are utility (not serious) and dog shows (a bit more serious but not much). Natalie's done really well in the showrings and I'm expecting her to become a Finnish Champion later this year. To be completely honest, at this point I have to tell that there's not so much competition here! Boston is a rare breed indeed. I feel so lucky having gotten my Natalie, as I know some people have been waiting for years to get the bt puppy they want.
I often have to answer questions about the breed and do it quite willingly. Many people ask if she's a pug or a french bulldog - even a boxer puppy or a cat! Some people remember having seen a similar little dog in Boston shoe polish cans... So she's just "the shoe shine dog" for them!
Dog shows are great fun for us, for there we get to meet other bt owners and Natalie's relatives. Nat's Mother, Brothers, aunts and uncles are mostly show dogs and the shows are like family reunions for us! Of course I like the excitement, too. Natalie has her own advantages and faults and at the end of the day, it's the matter of the judge's taste. Natalie is always a good performer for she has a playful, happy personality and it's all just another game for her.
I'm still waiting to be able to install software for resizing my huge images.. Meanwhile, in case you should be interested in seeing Finnish bostons, you can check Natalie's breeder's home pages at www.nevicatas.com. The English version is not yet available, but pictures are quite nice, I think. The breeder takes most of the photos by herself. On the opening page there's a familiar face...
walk_dog And here's another link at Finnish Boston's pages (our national club), some of these are also Natalie's ralatives, see if you can detect any family resemblance! http://www.toydogs.net/bostons/sbframeset.htm ----> "picture gallery"
