I am looking into getting pet insurance for Riley. Does anyone else have and recommend it? What plan do you use?

I have both of mine insured, but I can't give you any feed back yet. I wish I could say I spent the money and never had to use it, but that isn't an option, knowing that Molly has luxating patellas. I went with this one because it does not exclude heriditary condition, and all the rest did, that I found. I have the Gold care plan, which is a $50 deductible per incident, and then it pays 100%. One thing is, if you are debating, do it before your dog has any kind of diagnosis, which would classify as pre-existing conditions. Also, after you get the plan, there is a 30 day wait, for illnesses, so that just something to keep in mind. Anyway, it is a bit, but it will totally be worth it, if it works as well as it sounds...I will let you know, if you want. Here is a link, to the plan I have....I also went with this one because I am with a union which entitles me to a discounted plan....Always a plus!

I also have the petcareinsurance, but I just have the accident policy. It's only 9.95 per month and I figured I better have atleast a little something because we have lots of cars and mechanical things around our house. If you can afford it though I would get the coverage like Andie has that covers illnesses.

I just added that site to my favorites and I'm going to check it out when I get back in a few days. My daughter's JR was hit by a car a few years ago and the total cost to practically rebuild his leg was about 3000.00. I also had a kitty that was treated for cancer for 3 years. If insurance would help with things like that, I'm definitely interested.
